FERC Issues Sweetheart Lake License
FERC Issues Sweetheart Lake License
On September 8, 2016 the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued a 50 year license to Juneau Hydropower to construct and operate their Sweetheart Lake hydroelectric facility. This represents the culmination of over 7 years of research, planning, and design in the application and approval process. This effort would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts between Juneau Hydropower and its partners as well as many state local and federal agencies. Just as important was the overwhelming outpouring of public support.
Construction is slated to begin in the early 2020s. Regular updates on construction progress will be posted on the juneauhydropower.com site.
